The Arizona section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AzAAPT) is dedicated to the advancement of physics teaching and learning across Arizona. We seek to foster professional networks and support members in advocating for physics education. Our bi-annual meetings, held in various locations throughout the state, serve as valuable platforms for teachers to come together to share knowledge and ideas.
Form in the early 1980's AzAAPT has worked with many teachers over the years. We meet throughout the state, typically at schools. The fall meetings are usually in the Phoenix area and the spring meeting usually alternates between the northern and southern parts of the state.
Helping Teachers Become Better Educators: AzAAPT is dedicated to supporting physics educators in their journey to become more effective and engaging teachers. Through collaborative discussions, workshops, and resource sharing, we empower educators to enhance their teaching methods and strategies.
Encouraging Growth and Learning: We strive to facilitate the continuous growth of educators and their students by connecting teachers to professional development opportunities, mentorship programs, and educational resources.
Expanding Our Community: AzAAPT aims to grow our community by aligning our offerings with the evolving needs of teachers throughout the state. We recognize the importance of staying attuned to what educators are seeking to make their classes more engaging, relevant, and impactful.
